Power and preview dialing

How power mode dials the next lead automatically, how preview mode lets agents read first, and which to choose.

Each campaign uses one of two dialing modes. Both dial one number per agent at a time, so nobody who answers is ever left waiting for an agent.

Power mode

The default. The agent selects Start dialing once:

  1. NitroDialer picks the next lead and dials immediately.
  2. The lead's details, CRM history and script appear while it rings.
  3. When the call ends, the agent picks an outcome (number keys, then Enter).
  4. A wrap-up countdown (15 seconds by default) gives time to finish notes. Call now skips it; Hold stops it.
  5. The next lead dials automatically.

Unanswered calls hang up at the campaign's ring limit. When nothing is due, the screen says so and checks again every 30 seconds.

Use power mode for fresh leads, re-engagement lists and anything where speed matters more than preparation.

Preview mode

NitroDialer shows the next lead and waits. The agent reads the card and history, then selects Call or Skip. Skipped leads come back an hour later.

You can set preview mode to auto-dial after N seconds, which gives agents a fixed reading window and keeps the pace up.

Use preview mode for high-value callbacks, quotes, and accounts where the agent needs context before speaking.

Pausing

Agents can pause between calls with a reason (Break, Lunch, Meeting, Coaching, Admin work). Pausing isn't possible mid-call. Paused time is excluded from dials per working hour and shown separately in coaching.

If the browser closes

The Dial screen sends a heartbeat every 30 seconds. If it stops for about 3–6 minutes, NitroDialer ends the session, returns any lead the agent was holding to the queue, and marks the agent offline on the live floor.

A call that ended but never got an outcome is put back in the queue after the campaign's default gap. It stays counted as "missing outcome" in coaching, because that's worth a conversation.

Why not predictive dialing

Predictive dialers call several numbers per agent and connect whoever answers first. When more people answer than there are agents, calls are dropped. That's frustrating for the people you're calling and regulated as "abandoned calls" in the US, Canada and the UK. Dialpad also limits each agent to 5 call starts per minute. NitroDialer's power mode gets most of the speed without any of the abandoned calls.
